Here at Tafi, we’re proud of the variety of content we offer (and continue to make!) to represent diverse lifestyles, identities, and cultures. And Breanna Kilpack, our Content Production Coordinator on the Daz 3D side of Tafi, plays a crucial role behind the scenes to bring you exciting new content daily. They’ve been with us for a year and a half now, and we’re excited to share more about another incredible person on our team.

The Interview

Breanna, thanks for taking the time to answer our questions! Let’s start with the basics. What do you like most about working at Tafi?

What I like most about working here is being able to bring my experiences and offer a new perspective that we can apply to our products. As a non-binary person, I’ve been able to influence how we treat gender and have been helping design several non-cis characters on our platform.

That’s awesome! What has your experience been like working at Tafi?

It’s been exciting! It’s always great to be involved with the front lines of tech and content creation.

And what are some of your favorite memories at Tafi?

(Idk whether to include this because my favorite memories are going out to the bar for lunch with everyone or going hard at the last Christmas party.)

(There’s no shame in enjoying fun times with coworkers outside of work!) What has been your favorite project at Tafi?

Break the Binary was by far my favorite project. I reached out to our PA community to find LGBTQ+ artists and enthusiastic allies to create every piece of the bundle. Each product was designed to massively expand our characters’ capabilities for gender expression. It included things like pregnancy morphs for males, beards for females, binders, and hip compressors, as well as two non-cis characters, the first ones in our store.

What a cool moment in company history to be a part of. What is your proudest moment/accomplishment at Tafi?

Organizing and releasing the Daz’s first outright LGBTQ+ content, the Pride Parade Bundle. As I went through my undergrad degree for video game development, I decided that my lifetime career goal was to merge my LGBTQ+ activism with my tech career. I had no idea that Tafi would give me that opportunity so soon!

We’re honored to help you achieve your goal! Before working at Tafi, what was the most unusual or interesting job you've ever had?

I used to be an animal handler at the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City. I would go out and teach about animals while holding snakes, possums, hissing cockroaches, chinchillas, all types of birds, and lots more. When I wasn’t using live animals, I was using parts of old animals that had passed at the zoo. My favorites were a giraffe skull and a polar bear forearm.

Whoa, that sounds fun! Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us.

Outside of work, I’m a bit of a performer. I’m a drag king, burlesquer, and I play the saxophone and piano!

Nice! Are there any creative projects/visuals you'd like to tell us about and share with us?

I’ve been working more on render art myself (for obvious reasons), and one of my renders was accepted into a local queer art exhibit! I did a piece using Torment 8.1, our first major non-binary character. I also had another digitally drawn piece that got accepted as well.

Are there any passion projects you are currently working on and want to share with us?

I am currently working with a friend to start a small side business that does LGBTQ+ consultation, education, and therapy groups. <3

Wow, that’s an awesome way to get involved and help your local community. Outside of Tafi, what else do you like to do in your free time?

I game a lot on my PC and Switch. I also spend a lot of my time going to local music, art, and drag shows.

Fun! Okay, here are some random questions that are just for fun. What's your favorite and least favorite food?

My favorite food is ramen, and my least favorite is raw celery or raisins.

I mean, who doesn’t love a good bowl of ramen? If you could only drink one beer for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Definitely the Blueberry Hefeweizen by Wasatch Brewery here in Utah.

And if you could only have one "specialty drink" for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I won’t ever have enough strawberry daiquiris.

What is your favorite travel destination?

Costa Rica.

What is your motto or personal mantra?

“Loving yourself inside and out is the strongest form of protest and will teach others to do the same.”

Such a great motto to live by! Is there anything else you'd like to share with us?

I'm just excited to see what more we can accomplish in the future of this platform, especially when it comes to inclusiveness and representation.

Same here, Breanna. As leaders in 3D technology, we have to think about how to be diverse in our products and use the latest and greatest tech advancements too. We’re grateful to have you as a part of our team and for your unique perspective, and we’re glad to know you on a more personal level now!
